However, I want the serial number to remain constant over all the labels printed of a particular part number, so that several crates can all have.

I use a serial counter in NiceLabel (network version) to create a unique barcode. The label and.dvv is saved on a network place where different users can reach it.I use NiceForm to allow users to input data and print the label. The problem I encounter is that when 2 different users opens the label both users receive the same number and the same number is printed. This situation creates duplicates. How can this been solved? One would assume that the number is only assigned at the time of effective printing the label and saved immediately after it while the.dvv is locked meanwhile. Thanks! The option Remember last used value for variable only works in single-user scenario. Also,.DVV is something that NiceLabel Pro can work with, but not NiceForm.
If you want to remember the last used value in NiceForm, you will have to remember it yourself using action Save variable data. You will also have to calculate the new 'last used value' yourself.Luckily, there is more elegant solution to share the variable between many users and make sure each gets a unique value.Define the variable as Global variable.Such variable is automatically define outside the label file (stored in NiceLabel's System folder).
